Beginning January 1, 2024, the Texas Legislature eliminated the Document Filing Fee (originally called Courthouse Security Fee) of $1.00 which has been collected on most Recording documents and Marriage Licenses. (Texas Local Gov't Code § 291.008(d))(Senate Bill 1612 of the 88th Legislature Regular Session)
As of October 1, 2023, the Texas Legislature and the Montgomery County Commissioners Court authorized a Records Archive fee of $10.00 to be collected on most Recording and Vitals documents. (Texas Local Gov’t Code § 118.011(f)).
Please review the following fee sheets that reflect the amounts collected after January 1st, 2024.

Vitals fees after 1/1/2024 For our customers visiting the Conroe office for services, please utilize the new kiosk near the information desk in the lobby. You will receive a ticket placing you in the queuing system for service with our next available clerk. Our friendly information desk manager is also there to assist you with questions. The following services are available at the Annexes: marriage licenses, birth certificates, death certificates, criminal case payments and certified copies of real property records. Brand renewals cannot be processed at the annexes.
